About hazardous wate

Lets all work towards a zero waste economy

We generate more than 180 million tonnes of waste every year in the UK alone. This is a poor use of resources and costs businesses and households money. It also causes environmental damage - for example, waste sent to landfill produces methane, a powerful greenhouse gas.

Population growth, increasing consumer demand and pressure on limited resources mean that we must all focus on realising the opportunities from sustainable growth. We need to make better and more efficient use of increasingly valuable resources.

Most of the liquid-applied systems on the market today carry a hazardous warning and need to be disposed of correctly in order to avoid damaging the environment. Allbase has strict controls from the point of our production to its movement, management, and recovery or disposal.

Hazardous waste accounts for a small percentage of the total waste (around 3% in 2008) but the amounts produced are still significant (around 4.8 million tonnes in 2008). We’re working with the Government and our partners to reduce the amount and level of hazardous waste.

Return and recycle

Our returns service

If you have any remaining Allbase materials left over from a recent project that you want to dispose of safely, the Allbase returns programme allows you to send them back to us so we can either dispose of, recycle or reuse the materials. Customers who send back any qualifying materials will receive special discounts on future orders.
