Resin bonded and bound surfacing is the hottest surfacing craze at the moment and can be applied to new or existing or surfaces to create amazing new surfaces, but whats the difference between the two and which one is right for you.

Using resin bound surfacing (Gravelcoat Bound) gives you a water-permeable surface (SUDS Compliant) when used with a open grade binder. The resin mixture has open voids across the surface and allows air and surface water to pass through the composite making it an excellent choice for drives, paths, tree pits and areas susceptible to standing water. The Smooth surface is ideal is wheelchair friendly and is easy to maintain. The typical life span for a resin bound surface should be in excess of 15 years plus depending on usage.

Resin bonded (Gravelcoat Bonded) on the other hand is a non-permeable system and is produced from a graded aggregate applied directly on to a natural or coloured resin, creating a textured surface. Regular sweeping is required after installation and depending on the type of aggregate selected the life span will be between 5-15 years.
